Your AI Notetaker Never Forgets. Neither Will Opposing Counsel.

Every meeting your AI notetaker joins leaves a transcript the other side can ask for in a lawsuit. Courts are already ruling on whether AI chats are privileged, and meeting transcripts are next. What to retain, what to put on hold, and how to keep privilege intact.

Why now

Otter.ai's wiretap case survived

In August 2026 a federal judge in San Francisco let wiretap, California privacy and Illinois biometric claims go forward over meetings Otter recorded without every participant's consent.

An AI chat was not privileged

In United States v. Heppner (S.D.N.Y., February 2026) a defendant's chats with a consumer AI tool were held neither privileged nor work product. Courts in Michigan and Texas have since gone the other way.

20 million chat logs ordered produced

In The New York Times v. OpenAI the court ordered a 20 million log sample handed over, and the order was affirmed in January 2026.

Attendees who never signed up are suing

Cruz v. Fireflies.AI claims a meeting bot captured the voiceprint of someone who never used the product, under Illinois's biometric privacy law.
